Want to buy some time-honored household handicrafts or snacks that combine uniquely Lingnan cultural elements for a gift, for your home or as a souvenir of Guangdong, but have no clue where to buy such things?

The province is going to launch an online shopping festival with a focus on products highlighting its cultural heritage and gathering specialties from across the province over the following few weeks on several major e-commerce platforms, including Taobao, JD, Pinduoduo and Meituan.

What you need to do is search '广东非遗购物节' (type: guang dong fei yi gou wu jie) on Taobao for instance between May 29th and 31st, and you will be directed to a special section where you can start shopping.

And you no longer have to worry about how to choose among so many products, because the shopping festival will be organised into two key sections; life style and home products and foodstuffs, two marketing campaigns recommending high-level retailers and selling quality goods at auction, and a live stream promoting different kinds of products, to help you pick up a few good bargains.

Shoppers will also be able to watch Guangdong craftsmen showcasing how these handicrafts or snacks are made during the festival, which will definitely give you a greater appreciation of your purchases.

The online shopping festival forms part of Guangdong's celebrations of the country’s annual Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, which falls on the second Saturday of every June, June 13th this year. It is supported by the related departments of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Commerce and the State Council.
